Structure & Emergence
Many event organizers utilize structures that can be applied to any gathering to ensure that it is produced without a hitch. Though we at Kinvene have plenty of templates in our treasure chest and consider spreadsheets to be our kin, operating in formulaic ways is not what enlivens us at the core. That is why we love balancing structure with emergence.
Emergence asks us to extend beyond our ideas of how we think things should go and allows for another intelligence – that of the collective group field - to guide us. Emergence often flips our ideas of success on their head. When emergence enters the equation, a gathering’s success will no longer be measured by how smoothly things are run, but rather by what new possibilities and experiences reveal themselves.
Being in control of an environment ensures that unexpected things don’t surface. That is convenient if we want things to remain the same. But if we want to be part of healing and creating new possibilities, then we have to be willing to allow space for uncertainty.
Sometimes this means that what we are afraid of will happen - difficult material that wants to be healed or witnessed surfaces. Sometimes this means that things get messy. But to us, messiness does not equate to failure. Emergence, even in its messiest forms, will often electrify a group field.
The beauty of emergence is that whether messy or not, it invites synchronicity, flow and pure magic. It allows us to tap into an organizational field that is beyond anything that our human minds could come up with.
At Kinvene, we love structure and organization - and - we are willing to shift and change what has been planned in order to serve what is needed in any given moment. We are willing to get out of our own ways, and encourage you to do the same, in order to be of service to your gathering’s fullest expression and to those who show up to participate in that adventure.
